The Oldest Operating Court on Route 66!
We believe traveling is about the journey – taking a road less traveled, meeting lifelong friends, discovering places you’ll never forget, and making some of your best memories ever.
Your time at historic Rockwood Motor Court will be a special part of your journey as you meet and share stories with other guests and sleep in the same rooms where Route 66 travelers have stayed since 1929.
Newly renovated in 2019, you’ll enjoy clean and comfortable room amenities (with Wifi and Blue Tooth) while experiencing authentic motor court lodging. Each room is themed to an era of Route 66 with vintage décor, furniture, and memorabilia. Browse through our website and choose the room that’s just right for you!
The floorplans below are overall examples and are not to scale.

There are several outdoor spaces on the property where you can relax, spend time with family and friends, visit with other guests, read a book, or do absolutely nothing – encouraged and allowed.
The covered patio on the back of the house is a comfortable area with tables and chairs to sit and unwind, play games, have a cold drink or meal, and plan or replay your travels. The area next to the patio offers additional seating with tables and chairs, a picnic table, and vintage glider.
The yard by the old garage, with dozens of Route 66 vintage license plates on it, is a great place to take photos or sit and relax. Great conversations and new friendships happen here.
You’ll find our resident Russian Tortoise, Billy, lounging or grazing in his private quarters when the weather is pleasant. Billy is a seasoned Route 66 traveler and takes every chance he can to escape the court and head for the open road. He’s always happy to smile for the camera but we ask that you respect his privacy when he’s not taking company.
Whatever space you choose, our goal is for you to relax, unplug, and enjoy our simple way of life at the Rockwood.
