Welcome to Rockwood

We believe traveling is about the journey - taking a road less traveled, meeting lifelong friends, discovering places you’ll never forget, and making some of your best memories ever.

Your time at historic Rockwood Motor Court will be a special part of your journey as you meet and share stories with other guests and sleep in the same rooms where Route 66 travelers have stayed since 1929.

Newly renovated in 2019, you’ll enjoy clean and comfortable room amenities (with Wifi and Blue Tooth) while experiencing authentic motor court lodging. Each room is themed to an era of Route 66 with vintage décor, furniture, and memorabilia. Browse through our website and choose the room that’s just right for you!

The Motor Court

There are several outdoor spaces on the property for you to relax and spend time with friends and other guests. A BBQ grill, picnic table, and fire pit with lawn chairs are located behind Cottage 9.

The covered patio on the back side of the house is a large, comfortable space to sit back and unwind, have a picnic or cold drink, and replay your day on the road.

The area by the old garage, with dozens of Route 66 state license plates on it, is a great place to visit and take photos.  Or, for a quiet spot, choose the big fountain and Adirondack chairs in the cubby courtyard between units 3 and 4. We encourage you to explore the motor court, learn about our history, and enjoy the artistic detail of the stone and masonry.
